Dermalux LED Light Therapy in Croydon

Non-invasive LED light therapy to support radiance, calm and skin recovery.

Dermalux LED Light Therapy is a non-invasive light treatment designed to support radiance, calm visible irritation and help the skin’s natural repair processes with no downtime.

Dermalux uses selected therapeutic wavelengths of light to stimulate cellular activity, also known as photobiomodulation. This can help support concerns such as breakouts, redness, sensitivity, dullness, uneven tone and visible signs of ageing.

Treatments are painless, suitable for all skin tones when appropriate, and can be used as a standalone skin treatment or as an add-on to selected facials.

Available at Queen B, South Croydon.

A calm, comfortable and non-invasive way to support skin clarity, radiance and recovery without peeling, heat or downtime.

Why guests choose Dermalux

More than a beauty trend.

Dermalux is a professional LED Phototherapy treatment built around selected therapeutic wavelengths, treatment consistency and visible skin support without unnecessary stress to the skin.

Selected wavelengths

Dermalux uses blue, red and near-infrared wavelengths selected for different skin goals, including clarity, radiance, collagen support, calming and recovery.

No heat or trauma

LED Phototherapy is non-invasive and non-thermal. There is no peeling, abrasion, heat damage or recovery period.

Suitable all year round

Because Dermalux does not use UV light and does not resurface the skin, it can usually be considered throughout the year when suitable after consultation.

How it works

How Dermalux LED works

Dermalux LED uses non-UV light energy at selected wavelengths. Each wavelength has a different role, and your therapist will choose the most suitable option depending on your skin goals.

Blue light

Blue light, around 415 nm, helps target breakout-causing bacteria and supports a clearer-looking complexion.

Red light

Red light, around 633 nm, supports collagen activity, skin vitality and a smoother, brighter-looking complexion.

Near-infrared light

Near-infrared light, around 830 nm, penetrates more deeply to support skin recovery, calm visible inflammation and help repair processes.

Combination options

Single and combined wavelength options allow the treatment to be adapted to different skin concerns.

Course-led results

Best booked as a course

Dermalux can give the skin a visible glow after one treatment, but its real strength is consistency.

We usually recommend an initial course of 8 treatments over four to five weeks, followed by monthly maintenance where appropriate. Some concerns may benefit from 8 to 12 sessions, depending on the skin and the treatment goal.

Speak to our team about course options when you book. You can book Dermalux online or call us on 020 3441 7172.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Will I see results after one session?

Many guests notice a brighter, calmer complexion straight away. For stronger and more consistent results, we usually recommend a course of 8 treatments over four to five weeks, with 2 to 3 sessions per week. Some skin concerns may benefit from 8 to 12 sessions. Monthly maintenance can help keep results consistent, and results from a course can last several months depending on the skin concern.

Is Dermalux safe for my skin tone?

Yes. Dermalux LED Phototherapy uses non-UV light and is suitable for all skin tones when used as directed.

Does Dermalux tan the skin or cause photosensitivity?

No. Dermalux does not use UV light and will not tan the skin. If you are taking photosensitising medication or have a light-sensitive condition, tell your therapist during consultation.

Is Dermalux comfortable?

Yes. Most guests describe Dermalux as a gentle, warm and soothing light experience. There is no pain and no downtime. Skin may feel slightly warm or look briefly flushed immediately after treatment due to increased circulation. This is normal and usually settles within one to two hours.

Is Dermalux suitable during pregnancy?

Evidence for use during pregnancy is limited. We do not use Dermalux during pregnancy. Dermalux is considered safe for guests who are breastfeeding, though we recommend discussing this with your therapist at consultation.

Which wavelengths do you use?

Dermalux uses blue light around 415 nm, red light around 633 nm, and near-infrared light around 830 nm. These may be used alone or in combination depending on your skin goals.

Can Dermalux be combined with other treatments?

Yes. Dermalux pairs well with facials and can be used to calm the skin and support repair where appropriate. Your therapist will confirm suitability during consultation.

How many Dermalux treatments will I need?

The number of treatments depends on your skin concern, its severity and your goals. As a general guide, a course of 8 to 12 sessions is often recommended for best results, followed by maintenance where appropriate. Your therapist will advise a plan during your consultation.

Are there any contraindications I should know about?

Dermalux has a high safety profile and is suitable for most guests. However, treatment is not recommended for guests with epilepsy or seizures triggered by light, active cancer, certain autoimmune conditions such as lupus, or those currently undergoing cancer treatment. Guests with eye conditions including glaucoma, cataracts, age-related macular degeneration or who have had recent laser eye surgery may require sign-off from their eye specialist before treatment. If you are taking medications that increase sensitivity to light, please tell your therapist before booking. We conduct a full consultation before your first session and will advise if any factor affects your suitability.

How should I prepare for my Dermalux appointment?

Arrive with clean skin — no makeup, moisturiser or oils. Avoid retinol, AHAs, BHAs and other highly active skincare ingredients in the 24 hours before your treatment. Let your therapist know about any medications you are taking or any skin conditions you have. Avoid excessive sun exposure in the seven days before your session.

What should I do after my Dermalux treatment?

You can usually return to normal activities straight away. We recommend keeping skincare simple for the rest of the day, using hydrating products and SPF, and avoiding high-strength active ingredients until the following day. Any mild warmth or flush in the skin will usually settle within one to two hours.
