Hollywood Wax at Queen B in Croydon: How to Prepare, What to Expect and Aftercare
Booking your first Hollywood wax at Queen B in Croydon? This expert guide covers everything: how to prepare, what happens in the room, how it feels, and the aftercare that keeps skin calm and smooth. We specialise in intimate waxing for women and men using Perron Rigot professional waxes for low-temperature comfort and precise results—with hospital-grade hygiene and no double-dipping—ever. Getting a Hollywood wax for the first time can feel a little daunting, but we’re here to make the process as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
Hollywood vs Brazilian: what’s the difference?
A Hollywood wax removes all hair from the pubic area—front, labia and between the cheeks—for a totally smooth finish. A Brazilian wax removes everything underneath and behind but leaves a small strip or triangle on top. If you’re unsure, your therapist can help you choose at the start of your appointment.

Bikini: tidy outside the knicker line.
Extended Bikini: deeper tidy into the line.
Brazilian: leaves a neat strip or triangle and removes hair underneath.
Hollywood: completely hair-free, front to back.
Before your appointment: how to prepare
The right prep makes your first Hollywood wax smoother and more comfortable. Aim for hair length of 6–12 mm (about a grain of rice). If you’ve shaved recently, wait at least two and a half weeks before booking so the wax can grip properly.
In the week before, gently exfoliate the area every other day, then stop 24 hours before your visit. On the day, avoid heavy lotions, fake tan, sunbeds and intense heat. If you’re sensitive to caffeine, skip it for a few hours beforehand.
Planning for a holiday or event? Do a trial wax four weeks ahead to see how your skin responds, then book your event wax one to two days prior for the best finish.
Hygiene and comfort
Please shower before your appointment (or arrange a quick shower on arrival). Bring a clean change of underwear if you’re not going straight home. You’ll complete a short consultation—tell us about medications, pregnancy, recent peels or laser, and any skin concerns so we can tailor your wax safely.
What to expect during your Hollywood wax
Your therapist will cleanse the skin, apply a protective pre-oil, and work in small sections using Perron Rigot hot wax (strip-less) for delicate areas and high-performance strip wax where appropriate. We support the skin, use clear breathing cues, and keep each removal quick to minimise sensation. Fresh disposable sticks are used every time—we never double-dip.
Aftercare: the first 24–48 hours
Keep the area clean, cool and dry. Avoid tight clothing, gym sessions, hot showers, steam/sauna, swimming, tanning and sexual activity for 24–48 hours while follicles are temporarily open. From day two or three, begin gentle exfoliation two to three times per week and moisturise daily to help prevent ingrowns and keep skin supple.
Never shave between waxes; it resets the hair growth cycle and can increase ingrowns. Rebook every 3–4 weeks—most guests enjoy 3–4 weeks of smoothness, and regrowth often becomes finer with regular visits.
Periods, pregnancy and timing
You can wax during your period. Sensitivity may be higher; for intimate waxing, please wear a fresh tampon or a menstrual cup. If you’d rather not wax at that time, let us know 48 hours in advance to avoid late cancellation fees.
Waxing is safe during pregnancy. Please tell us when booking—especially in the third trimester—so we can allow extra time and position you comfortably on our electric treatment beds.
Who can have a Hollywood wax?
We welcome guests aged 18 and over. Please disclose any use of topical retinoids (pause 5–7 days beforehand), oral isotretinoin (medical clearance needed), recent peels or laser, and any active irritation or infection on the area. If you’re unsure, call us on 020 3441 7172 or check our FAQs.
Male intimate waxing
Our therapists are fully trained in male intimate waxing. For accuracy and hygiene, you’ll remove all clothing from the waist down. If it’s your first time and you’d like to schedule a call before booking, please let us know.
